Grand Hall

In the Great Hall, candles have been arranged around a section of wall, illuminating what appears to be some kind of message.

PLEASE HELP

The Oracle and the Light have been murdered by a person or persons unknown. If you have ANY information that can help, PLEASE write it here. We need to consolidate information as much as possible.

ORACLE
--heart removed and placed in body of bird woman in hidden room
--last seen alive ???
--throat cut to prevent calling out, probable cause of death. Heart removed postmortem.

LIGHT
--last seen alive ~~???~~ after discovery of Oracle's heart, between hidden room and library. Intended to stand watch in grand hall?
--killed in hidden room, body left at murder scene --> Brought from GH to scene? Following someone? Maybe knew killer?
--definite signs of a struggle, nails broken -- struggling w/ something hard??
--gaping wounds in chest/neck, heart removed, heart still missing
--trail of ash/charcoal --> hearth room
--blood of victim on hearth room stairs -- from murder weapon??? heart???
--squawk box removed from throat and stored in same cavity Oracle's heart found -- why???

OTHER NOTES
--Motive: Some kind of ritual sacrifice? To what end?
--Murder Weapon: Magical dagger. Black (obsidian?), causes sickness and sensation of being watched when touched.

A small pile of charcoal has been left near one of the candles, giving plenty of material to write with, but there seems to be no one around.

The gargoyle has camped himself out near the board, and looks hopefully at those who come in. "I'm trying to get as much information as I can," he explains, gesturing to the wall. "I thought maybe if we gather all the information in one place we can stop who did this. Have you seen anything...you know, suspicious?"

Aria comes to stand next to him, reading over the board carefully. "I didn't even know half of this!"

Peering at corpses weren't really her thing. She looks rather sad, especially reading over the latter list.

The typewriter pauses her investigation long enough to approach the gargoyle. "You should stay with someone," she says. "Morre than one, if you can. He - Lights was going to stay herre too, and watch." She swallows hard. "And then...I guess someone saw him firrst.

"That was afterr we found the orracle's hearrt," she adds, gesturing at the board. "He split off frrom us instead of going to brring it back to herr. That's the last I saw of him." She swallows again and visibly forces her voice to steady. "It wasn't just his hearrt. They torre out - the grrim kid said it was his squawk blisterr - frrom his thrroat and put it in the birrd woman's body wherre the orracle's hearrt was. Brrimstone found it."

Breaking away from the meeting, Huǒ takes a moment to read the post.
"Hmm..." they mutter, before turning to the gargoyle. "You found blood on the stairs? Can you show me which set? Where did the trail seem to be going?"

The astronomer is happy to see a familiar face, especially in this darkness. He's only been awake for a few days, and the lights have already gone out. Just splendid.

As much of a relief as it is to see the gargoyle, his words concern the dragon. He's too focused on them now to look at the board. "No, no, I am afraid not. It's quite hard to see, even with this light..." He moves his starry wings a bit to demonstrate. "Er, I do have one question, however – you said someone did this? Someone caused this darkness?"

The journal here hasn't managed to find either body--not that he'd want to--and has spent quite a while just trying to maneuver his way around the house in the dark. As a result, he doesn't know a lot of what's going on...except that something is going on.

He has nothing to add, and even if he did add something, he'd probably just end up creating a giant smudge as his contribution, but he pauses to scan the message anyway before turning to the gargoyle.

"It's hard enough to see where you're going, let alone anything suspicious."

The wolf looked at the list, his arms wrapping around himself as he looked up and down it a few times before speaking. "I haven't seen anything suspicious but the Oracle was killed with this black dagger that was in the secret compartment," he said, motioning with his hand.

"It's a creepy thing. Makes you feel sick when you touch it. After I touched it, I swear things were watching me. It lasted a long time afterwards." He sat near the gargoyle, smiling uncomfortably. This situation was too bizarre. "There were a lot of weird things in that compartment. There was this jar that had herbs without a smell!"

He writes:

"Gargoyle!" the timekeeper calls out as he sees the man, "Where did you wake up?"
