HEARTS IN DARKNESS: THE BODY

The body glimmers as the light spreads over its features, like a statue of precious metals stained with blood. Golden hair soaks in a pool of red that paints the floor like a canvas, extending out around the head and shoulders of the victim, still lazily seeping and expanding.

It's the body of the the oracle, and she is very much dead.

Her entire throat and chest is a mess of gore. The blood coats the skin and cloth so that it's hard to make out details, but there is one thing certain - something has cut deep into her chest cavity, as it carving something out from inside.

The body is still warm, but you never heard her scream.

Lights joins her for the search, helping her to see. Everything else that was left in the room seems to be in place, but but the corpse...looking closely, it seems like it has been moved in the recent past.

If she searches the body she will find that there's been a hole cut into its back, just big enough to stuff what is ostensibly the oracle's heart inside of it. When it was laying prone it would have been impossible to notice besides the changes in the green bloodspatter.

The heart glows faintly. The whole scenario is really just super unpleasant for everyone to behold.

Well, that's just gross. Is the heart actually attached in there? Brimstone listens to see if it's making any noise... like beating.

It's not attached. It appears exactly like someone just cut a hole in this corpse and stashed a heart inside of the hole. The mind boggles.

Well, there isn't much for it. Brimstone's going to wiggle a finger in there and see if she can get the heart out of there.
