There's a brief second where the timekeeper goes completely still before his eyes spring open, the hands on his clockfaces spinning wildly as he panicked and pushed himself away from Huǒ. He didn't have far he could go, pressed up against the wall as he was, but it gave him breathing room (did he even need to breathe?) while he became aware of his surroundings.

When the hands stopped spinning, he opened his mouth to declare the time - accurate despite the reaction of his eyes - and then awareness of who he was looking at came to him. It took him a moment more to calm the panic of his three clockwork hearts, but he managed it before he spoke again, "The vines! They have to be stopped!"

{{ooc: due to a thread I have started after this one (when I didn't know who would do the waking), could Huǒ be vague/not mention how he woke the clock up?))

"They have stopped as far as I can tell, friend."

The page stoops to pick up one of the slightly withered tendrils that once had bound Tick Tock. They waggle the vine and an eyebrow, trying to set the clock at ease.

It took him a second to focus on that. After he did, he took the time to actually look around his surroundings. The burned, ashy, and withered remains were everywhere. That meant the sword had succeeded, right?

"Where's the sword?" he asked. "The sword-man, I mean. The one that did this? Is he okay?"

"I haven't seen him...is he in peril? I thought he would have more than enough pluck to make it through unscathed." The page's eyes widen with concern.

"I don't know! The last thing I remember was..." - the dream of the desert sands... no before that! - "the vines dragging me away from him."

The Timekeeper pushed himself up, "I had him in my hand. The sword's sword. His body, his self. It's not here."

"I'm so sorry, Tick Tock," the page says, clapping a hand awkwardly to his shoulder for comfort. "If I see him, I'll tell him you miss him. And I WILL see him eventually; I promise."
